With a little bit of sunshine showing through a fairly rainy week, I decided to load up my bike for some fishing at the lake. I’ve taken my trailer before, but wanted to try it with whatever I could fit on just the bike itself, so I opted for the fly rod, being more compact. The rod, net and gear all fit in my Topeak MTX pannier bag nicely.

I didn’t catch anything today, but it was great to get out and get some fresh air mid-COVID-19 lockdown.

UPDATE (27 August): I took the bike out for yet another fishing session, this time with my spinning rod alongside the fly. Still no fish, but again thoroughly enjoyed the ride.

Still working out the details of carrying my gear, and hoping to maybe put together a more comprehensive bike fishing post in the coming few weeks.
